South Louisiana's Finest Storage Facility

The Bayou Vermilion as it runs through South Lafayette, Louisiana near the Eloi Broussard Bridge on E. Broussard Road.  Along with the standard issue squirrels and every kind of bird imaginable, we've seen coons, foxes, possums, skunks, a beaver, nutria, all sorts of turtles, copperheads, moccasins, herons, egrets, ducks (see the box in the top photo?) in and along the river.  A neighbor even got a picture of an alligator in the water in about 2004....  a rare sighting in residential southern part of the city.
